Currently, Fredericton lacks a central volunteer coordinating mechanism. But that is about to change... During The Open Space Forum, it became clear that our community embraces the spirit of volunteering. In recognizing the essential role of volunteering in our community, a working group has been established to investigate the possibility of developing a Volunteer Centre. Want to help? Have questions? Please do not hesitate to get involved. Email us at volunteer@gfsi-isrf.ca, or join the discussion in our online forum.
One of the most pressing issues identified at The Open Space Forum has been gaining traction over the past two months. A steering committee has been established to investigate the feasibility of developing a volunteer centre for the Fredericton region.
Interested parties have been meeting regularly and momentum is building. A visioning exercise has been completed, and the group has successfully leveraged the support of over twenty. Next, the group aims to engage the broader community in a dialogue on volunteering in the Fredericton region. Organizers are developing multiple engagement mechanisms, including a survey and an online discussion forum.
Interested in helping out? Want to participate in the planning process? Do you have ideas that you would like to share? If so, there are two ways to engage at this point:
